As the days draw in, Sarah is preparing new work for six winter exhibitions. The first opens at The Velvet Easel Gallery in Portobello, where Jane and her team have represented Sarah for several years. A selection of Sarah’s wee gem oils will be on display from Saturday 3 October.

Sarah is delighted that two of her oil paintings have been selected for Fidra Fine Art’s Professional Visual Arts Scotland Members exhibition. Her work will be in excellent company when the exhibition opens on Saturday 17 October. It runs until 29 November.

Next is Sarah’s annual contribution of two paintings and prints to St Columba’s Hospice exhibition, running from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October. Fifty per cent of sales will support the hospice’s vital work.

Sarah is delighted to have been invited back to Graystone Gallery’s winter exhibition The private view takes place on Saturday 14 November, and the group exhibition runs until 16 January 2027. It is always a visual treat.

Perhaps the most personal event is Sarah’s Open Studios at Patriothall Studios in Stockbridge. Join her for a glass of wine from 6–8 pm on Friday 20 November, or visit her studio from 11 am–5 pm on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November to chat with her. It is a wonderful opportunity to choose a unique artwork for Christmas, meet the wider community of artists and explore their work in this stunning building.

Finally, four of Sarah’s small oil paintings have been selected for the 2026 Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show. The exhibition runs from Sunday 20 to Tuesday 22 December at the Cornerstone Centre in St John’s Church on Princes Street. The works will also be available online, with 50% of sales supporting Macmillan.
